Which direction will the U.S. take?
Personally, I'm hoping she has a nice long retirement in Alaska with nary another thought about her or this moment in history.

That's one of the big deficiencies of the educated wealthy class in America--too many of them are not smart enough to understand the endpoint of their ideas.

Nor the consequences of their actions... ;)

(Sorta reminds me of 'that seventies show'.)

The HuffingtonPost had articles on the verdict that Palin unlawfully abused her power in trooper gate.

If an average joe does something unlawful, he/she usually goes to jail. Lets she Sarah in an orange jumpsuit. She might look good in one. McCain could give her good advice on how to stay sane while locked up in a small cell.

That is opinion of the report.
It says she did nothing illegal.

You are half right, which is much better than most of the crap coming out of the McCain campaign lately.

This is indeed the opinion of the legal consultant to the bipartisan panel of the Alaska Legislature that authored the report.

However, the report clearly states that "...Governor Palin abused her power by violating Alaska Statute 39.52.110(a) of the Alaska Executive Branch Ethics Act."

The full report may be found at this link. The findings are on Page 8.

That is for the other investigation to determine if it is illegal. Her lawyer has said for it to be an ethics violation there needs to be financial gain and here there was none.
Read the AP story here.
Doesn't the trooper Mike Wooten still have his job? Wouldn't the trooper be gone, if that was Palin's intent for firing Public Safety Commissioner Walt Monegan?
