I honestly can't even recall what it was like back then, other than much slower.

I'm off by 3 days, but Happy Birthday Me, WooHoo, Cheers!

Yes things have changed, About 8 months ago I fired up an old 133MHz cpu, and what pops up ... Seti3, LOL, if I could have got a network card to work I would have tried reporting the 1 task that was remaining :D

I have a HDD from an old system that still has stuff from when I was testing BOINC Alpha and the SET@home classic app. However it doesn't seem to have SETI Spy on it for some reason.

Another reason to celebrate is that, apparently, this is your first post on these forums in as many years. May an extraterrestrial civilization take example on you and finally break the silence in a similar fashion ! *raising my cuppa joe to you*

I had one of those back in the day. It took 96hours to crunch one WU. Now it is just a few minutes to do one.

And except for Wiggo the good man here, also that I typically associate 1999 with the inception of Seti@home for that of a project for a greater understanding,
so also here HAL9000 for much of the same.

A couple of weeks from 15 years here myself, it supposedly grew from narrowband to broadband for that of an initial start, if not still left with the same meaning for that of the
original concept, or perhaps idea.

Do not forget such a thing as satellites either when it comes to at least global communication, because here you could find both as well, by making it both telephone conversations,
by means of calls, and also radio and television transmission taking place as well.

Except for that, also Astropulse as well for that of a diffent way of looking at things, but here I rather preferred the regular client.

I signed on to SETI@home either in 1999 or 2000. But that was five computers and four email addresses ago.

I'm trying to access those old accounts, but don't have the account keys and the email addresses are no longer valid (although BOINC says my tampabay.rr.com email is still active and won't let me get at it).

It says my iglide.net account doesn't exist.

My newest account was activated in 2013 under my previous email. I was able to switch it to my current email.

Those old computers were slow, but they crunched a lot of data over the years and I'd like to add them to my current status so I can also claim membership in the 18-year club.

Any help?

It is good to rub elbows with old timers from time to time. It means we had good judgement way back then

My initial reason to join. Was that I liked the Screensaver!

Not the reason I stayed.

I joined the day after I bought my first computer(an iMac). The original SETI screensaver played on that computer all the time! :~)

My first computer was a BBC B 32Kb in the 1970's, but the first Seti computer I bought was a Dell Dimension P133, later upgreaded to a P200 with an overdrive chip.
