Now that the GOP is in control in most of the US. They will increase voter suppression and gerrymandering, and therefore the Dems will never again be in power until the increasingly uneducated poor realise they are being shafted.

And Abraham Lincoln said it best:
Government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the Earth.


And now look what we have here in the 21st century. A Country and Government run by the million/billionaires of the country to put more millions and billions in their coffers.

We The People of the United States, have NO say in anything that happens in this country. Sure, foreigners say "make changes at the polls". Won't ever happen. This country is circling the drain as we discuss it here on a Scientific research website.

Yes... They personally became richer. But that is immaterial to this discussion.

The Industrial Age monopolies (Trusts) were broken up. The 'Robber Barons' lost their monopoly control over their industries.

That is what must be done today with the Internet Age Robber Barons.

And as 'Teddy' Roosevelt understood then and as it applies today. Those who state we can't. Are the unintended 'useful fools' of the Robber Barons.

Is this the one Politics thread where for possibly the first time, all the posters are in agreement?! (Including certain posters who normally are irreconcilable...!)


In brief summary, we have:

ISPs Are Now Free To Discriminate Against Internet Services
The FCC, led by its new chairman, Ajit Pai, voted to repeal the net neutrality rules...

... Net neutrality may indeed not normally be needed, if the market was highly competitive and consumers could easily switch from one ISP to another in their local areas the moment one ISP began to misbehave. However, as most Americans know, that’s hardly the case right now...
