Message 96 - Posted: 25 Jun 2005, 13:39:27 UTC

When I started the BOINC CC 4.45 I got the following messages:
25.06.2005 15:19:58|SETI@home|Computer ID: 773907; location: 126706; project prefs: default
25.06.2005 15:19:58|SETI@home Beta Test|Computer ID: 779; location: 127021; project prefs: default

The prefs. for this host was set to school. Somehow this project has changed to something unknown(location: 127021) then default; the same was made with seti@home - prefs.
I can't even change the prefs (on SAH and SAH Beta) back for this host.

What do I wrong?

See the "Curious" thread in seti NC, it appears to be an epidemic.

THX, tony, I thought :I will post the problem here. But the problem is 'Seti related'.

BTW: I had another 'curious'-thing: After a benchmarktest-run there were 3 instances!!! running on a 2 CPU HT. After restarting of BOINC; it was crunching 'normal'...

If you did nothing, I think it would have gone back to normal on it's own. I've seen this problem reported by others. Don't know if they're fixing it or not.

I have had this happen on my pc a couple of times, it has always gone back to normal 2 wu processing at the next switch time which is 1 hour for me.

....

It's more likely BOINC related. That is the universal software ALL projects use. SETI would have nothing to do with it. SETI is a project.
