Hey folks,
I also have this problem with the normal S@H. Although possessing a CUDA-capable graphics-card, that is being recognized by BOINC as such, the new CUDA client doesn't get downloaded.

Someone said, that the distribution of this client is done via some caching system, that might be blocked by some ISPs. So my question: Is this system used on SETI@home Beta as well? Because if it isn't, I'm out of explanations as to why CUDA isn't downloading.

Best regards
Jens

What Graphics Card?, What version drivers?, Boinc version?,
Is Multibeam 6.03 getting downloaded instead?
Just because the the Graphics Card is Cuda Capable doesn't mean it'll work,
It should have Cuda capability 1.1 or Greater, or you'll just get 6.03.

See:
Comparison of Nvidia graphics processing units
S@h Client 6.4.5 CUDA

Hmm,

Coprocessors [CUDA|GeForce 8100 / nForce 720a|1|253MB]

IIRC there must be 254MB before BOINC will send work for it, and the download of the application is tied to WU download.

nVIDIA GeForce 8100 /nForce 720a (On Board)
Driver: 178.24
BOINC 6.4.5

Yeah - Multibeam 6.03 is getting downloaded instead.

So does this mean, that I don't have Cuda capability 1.1?

If that's the problem - is there any way of changing this? This is a shared-memory graphics-chip.

Here is a Link to a pdf with compute capabilities, but your gpu isn't mentioned, look at page 85.

You could try later drivers, 181.20 came out two days ago, but first thing, try a lower Resolution and Colour depth, to see if you can get 254MB reported.

Thanks for your suggestions.
Tried new drivers, but without success. Same applies to reducing color depth (resolution was at 1024*768).

Guess I won't be able to use CUDA then.

Raistmer, one of the code wizards from Lunatics, has posted a list with compute capabilities
Looks as if your 8100 does have compute cababilty 1.1, but just doesn't have enough Memory available.
