I have a question ab out the work units sent out in the Beta version. Are these actual work units of data from the telescope, or are they just duds used for testing out the program? I have a question about the work units sent out in the Beta version. Are these actual work units of data from the telescope, or are they just duds used for testing out the program? They are split from real telescope data. The 07mr11ah data we're working on really came from a disk which started recording 7 March 2011 at Arecibo. OTOH, we don't know if parts of the data were afflicted with radar interference and have been replaced with shaped pseudo-random noise. That of course is also true for work at the main project. Joe |

Regarding this topic I always interested if work being done on beta come to main database to be processed further or complete reprocess on SETI main will be required anyway. This question arise time to time, but I don't remember if it had clear and final answer... News about SETI opt app releases: https://twitter.com/Raistmer |

I imagine there is no clear and final answer. If the app(s) under test turn out to be be working well and producing good science, I'd imagine that the results would be assimilated with thanks. But if the apps turn out to have a problem (which is why we're testing them, after all), then of course the work would have to be re-done when the application flaws had been corrected. |

Yeah... in theory. Question is the berkeley staff ever done database merging or not. But I think only berkeley's staff can answer on this :) News about SETI opt app releases: https://twitter.com/Raistmer |
