I have 29 completed workunits that have been trying to upload for the past 3 days. No new workunits have downloaded either, despite there apparently being 100,000+ ready to send.

I've been watching the message boards and the front page to see if anyone reported any issues but I've seen nothing. It's difficult to tell whether the servers are up and running because of the problems with the server status page so I wondered whether I was the only one?

If it is just me, how do I clear the blockage?

Running BOINC 6.12.33, workunits are SETI@home v7.6.96. Event Log shows "Internet access OK - project servers may be temporarily down."

Any guidance would be much appreciated.

Cheers

SusieQ

Seti Beta shares the same hardware as the Seti Main project, see the HE problem threads over there in Number Crunching, and the threads about using Proxy servers:

and see the Technical News threads too:

Many thanks for the info Claggy.

I temporarily swapped to a different internet connection and have managed to upload my old workunits and download some new ones.

Let's hope they get the problem fixed before the new workunits need to report.

Thanks again - much appreciated

I'm in the same boat, and switching ISP's hasn't helped me. I only have 9 to upload, but, my machine refuses to request work until these uploads go through.

The problem is known by seti admins and is a dns name table problem, they are trying to make a workaround.
And at this moment seems solved for now.
I myself have had huge issues connecting at all and was not even able to get work for longer times.

Some people who run only seti can use a simple solution

Under the preferences from boinc, you can set boinc to make a huge buffer.
Which can be up to 10 days and in most cases will make sure that normal outages from seti are a non issue.
Since most outages last max a week setting it to 8 or 10 days will make sure you have all this time your pc doing the project.
And when seti is back up will send and receive new and finished work as soon as it finds the server working again.
In the paste i ran allways with the 10 day buffer and almost never had problems.

When you run other projects it can be a bit of a problem since some have a limited time that they can run, especially gpu projects tend to be time limited.

So again if only seti its easy make a huge buffer and your fine :D.
