Details here: http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/forum_thread.php?id=65746 Well, I stick to cat 11.4 which comes with the AMD ATI APP (SDK) 2.4. Noticed, CPU-times are lower with rev.365, compaired to rev.177, running on the same host, an I7-2600+ 2x HD5870 GPUs. Host 51045. Today I changed period_iterations from 2 to 5, have to see some results first. It does 2 instances_per_device. Also for AstroPulse, ffa_block 10240; ffa_block_fetch 2048. With AstroPulse work in store, I've to get me some ;-) |

I tried the Catalyst 11.11 with SDK2.5 yesterday, also tried 11.10 and sdk2.5 I didn't get it to work that good. Now I am running 11.9 with sdk2.5 and it works somewhat good...I'll keep running it and will evaluate in a couple of days. TRuEQ & TuVaLu |

This is a reminder that the present ATI v7 MB app doesn't produce correct results with Cat 11.10 & 11.11, See tuktuk1984's invalid tasks (he's subsequently changed to a Cat version that works) and see NinTrance's inconclusive tasks (his tasks haven't had a second wingman to make them invalid yet) Claggy |

This is a reminder that the present ATI v7 MB app doesn't produce correct results with Cat 11.10 & 11.11, Yep, you're so right, atleast cat. 11.10 & 11.11, doesn't support OpenCL. Or produces errors and crashes when an incompatible OpenCL driver is used. And had constant driver crashes with cat. 11.2/3 and 11.4. I ran the installer v 0.39, CPU only cause I can't figure out what's causing these crashes! Also works very counter productive and frustrating, cause it has worked with cat.11.2(?) and AMD APP (SDK) 2.4, forgot the 3# behind it. Strange?! I quit using the ATI GPUs for a while, it's not good for my healt, either ;-) I'll keep using my 2 NVIDIA hosts, also for SETI Bêta and fire up my 2nd QUAD 6600 with an new GTS250, PSU isn't powerfull enough for a 'bigger'card. Or try a 5770 on that host. |

Not pleased with this I tried every cat version, I could find and found a version which apparently works. Cat.11.4 and AMD APP (SDK)2.4, but an attemp to check GPU activity, crashes the driver, BSOD and reBOOTs. |

Not pleased with this I tried every cat version, I could find and found a version Yes, by the way, it's SDK 2.5 (OpenCL 1.1 AMD-APP-SDK-v2.5 (793.1) FULL_PROFILE) GPU-CapsViewer, build 1.12.0,may 15, 2011. Even checked Windows register for left-overs. I could try an older version of the app. (BROOK) and see what happens. GPU caps-viewer, nicely shows the OpenCL samples of CL-GPU-4D - Quaternion Julia set, 1M particles, etc. And the BSOD happened when starting GPUz (0.53) andtrying to see GPU load. Will try other cmd-line settings, like -hp and use a fixed-CPU-Core. |

Did find some left overs in the register and removed them, no crashes and also some first validated and checked WUs against my wingmate. Host I7-2600+ 2 5870 GPUs. I've to make a Bêta account for that host too, but the server wouldn't let me, when I tried it this afternoon. I'll try tomorrow, it's 03:00h (UTC+1) and I'm getting sleepy.............. I've given BOINC a whole 300GByte HDD partition. I also run the SSE3, (not SSE 2?) CPU version, I'll try check 0.4AR WUs , ran with SSE3 and SSSE3x, btw I wouldn't be surpriced when an I7, with HT ON, runs faster compaired to SSSE3x. |
