after upgrading to boinc 7.31 and downgrading back to 7.28 Pick a Boinc version, and stick with it, upgrade to fix any Bugs/features as they are fixed, swapping Boinc versions won't change how well an app crunches. This thread the Seti@home v7 release thread, If you're now talking about Astropulse then you are off topic, Go to the Astropulse sub-forum and post there, Claggy |

did a clean install of 12.11 beta11 no differance. If you need to generate new compilations with your earlier driver, Suspend GPU utilisation, Go to your Seti Beta project directory, and delete (or move files elsewhere for safe keeping) the following files, where the your_GPU_name or your_CPU_name is what your GPU and CPU is: r1643_your_CPU_name.wisdom clFFTplan_your_GPU_name_8_r1643.bin clFFTplan_your_GPU_name_16_r1643.bin clFFTplan_your_GPU_name_32_r1643.bin clFFTplan_your_GPU_name_64_r1643.bin clFFTplan_your_GPU_name_128_r1643.bin clFFTplan_your_GPU_name_256_r1643.bin clFFTplan_your_GPU_name_512_r1643.bin clFFTplan_your_GPU_name_1024_r1643.bin clFFTplan_your_GPU_name_2048_r1643.bin clFFTplan_your_GPU_name_4096_r1643.bin clFFTplan_your_GPU_name_8192_r1643.bin clFFTplan_your_GPU_name_16384_r1643.bin clFFTplan_your_GPU_name_32768_r1643.bin clFFTplan_your_GPU_name_65536_r1643.bin clFFTplan_your_GPU_name_131072_r1643.bin clFFTplan_your_GPU_name_524288_r1643.bin MultiBeam_Kernels_r1643.cl_your_GPU_name.bin_V7 Once you're removed those files from the Seti Beta project directory, re-enable GPU use, and the app will generate fresh compilations. all web searches lead here The Question is Nonsense, what is 7.31? I know what a F731 is, that is an RAF serviceabilty label, perhaps you're talking about Boinc 7.0.31, Boinc has lots of xml files, as does each version of Boinc. Claggy |

Will rise this issue on AMD OpenCL forums. Claggy, do we have driver restarts with post Cat 12.8 drivers on AP6 too? And do all GPUs affected or HD7xxx exclusively ? |

Will rise this issue on AMD OpenCL forums. AP seems O.K on my HD7770 after doing Compilations on Cat 12.11Beta8, and is apparently O.K on dancer42's HD6870's with Cat 12.11 too, Claggy |

No problems with Cat 12.8 - 12.10 on 5850 and 6850. With each crime and every kindness we birth our future. |

Mike Told me to look for a file that was left by the Beta11 that was located in C:\windows\System32\ folder and called OpenCl.dll I removed it and reinstalled APP from driver 12.3. I'll try a couple of more Beta tasks. Thank you Mike |

It's hard to remove AMD drivers completely. Here what AMD support recommends to to to cleanup current driver version more or less totally: 1. Download the WICU. http://www.softpedia.com/get/Security/Secure-cleaning/Windows-Installer-CleanUp-Utility.shtml 2. Uninstall everything related to ATI/AMD and reboot through programs and features in the Control Panel (programs and features). Use Driver Fusion (freeware) to remove any remnants of AMD (check the "AMD Display" box) (http://treexy.com/products/driver-fusion). 3. Launch WICU and delete anything related to ATI/AMD/CCC. 4. Delete all ATI/AMD folders in "C:\Program Files" and "C:\Program Files (x86)". 5. Boot into safemode and navigate to the "C:\Windows\Assembly" folder and delete any assemblies which have the public token key "90ba9c70f846762e". It is possible that you won't find any, but check it. 6. Reboot. 7. Install the Catalyst package again. |

Greets to you all Well first up, apologies for nuking so many workunits, I was running AMD Catalyst 12.11 Beta and after finding some time to peruse the forums, found that this version did not play nice on this project. Managed to get some time to do the full clean and reinstall solution on the AMD Catalyst Drivers. I now am back on the AMD Catalyst 12.8 drivers and can safely say I have successfully completed one workunit (its awaiting validation as we speak) http://setiweb.ssl.berkeley.edu/beta/result.php?resultid=11712754 The stderr output has a lot of information in it, so hopefully its useful to you, as some of it, is a bit hard for me to comprehend. Running WIN 7 X64, Boinc 7.0.40 x64, AMD 12.8 on a HD5850, running stock apps Regards Tazzduke |
