Message 46735 - Posted: 4 Sep 2013, 19:35:11 UTC - in response to Message 46734.

The thing is, it produces less heat when running Setiathome and keeps the phone fully charged, when running Asteroids it can't keep the phone fully charged, it'll discharge to whatever value I have the minimum battery level set to,
then cycle as the battery charges, then runs, then charges again, (It used to charge harder and get warmer before an Android kernel update some six months ago, I think the charge rate is limited now)

Claggy

Does BOINC ever show the "Waiting for battery to cool down" message on your phone? I don't know how else to check if there is a battery temperature sensor.

On my phone, SETI@home will deplete the battery if I'm charging from a computer, but won't when I'm charging from a wall wart.

Not sure what either would have to do with the SETI@home troubles on your phone.

No, it doesn't, the HTC One S sits on top of the i7-2600K case, right above the Corsair H100i, it's perhaps the coolest crunching phone out there,
at work where it sits on a plastic surface it's just slightly warm, in the car when it's powered off the lighter socket it gets warmer, but doesn't change the result.

My HTC One V ran okay and was fairly cool when I tested 7.06 app on it. I had it plugged into my FX-4100 for the entire time and it stayed charged.

And the contest for the fastest ARM/Android machine has begin, apparently. You've got my three (combined) beat.

My first task has completed and validated but took about three times longer to complete than the buddy PC. Is getting about 4.2 credits an hour.

Task : 04mr09ab.4618.15614.4.16.24 deleted because reached "Infinity%" and impossible to send back during update.

Same for task : 04mr09ab.4618.15614.4.16.9_1 Task finished with : "Infinity%" result + impossible to send back during update.

That's really weird. It looks like they were running OK to that point.

I attached my Intel Atom Z2420 thinking I'd get a task when/if other procs besides ARM receive support but I appear to be crunching at a rate of approximately 1% per hour.

Which is nice :)

Other tasks probably got trashed while I was scrambling to get my settings sorted.

Do you guys think it'll finish the task on an Intel proc or am I just wasting bandwidth?

Asus Fonepad - essentially a Nexus 7 with phone capabilities and an Atom instead of a Tegra

Strange that it's reported as having an ARMv7 processor rev 1 (v7l) processor, a Boinc Bug?, or because Android Boinc is running on an unsupported CPU?

What does the Boinc say in the Event Log on startup?

Where did you get the client from? from the Play Store? or from a Manual Download from the Boinc site?

Vfp swp half thumb fastmult edsp vfpv3

I also restarted the tablet completely shutting it down to see if anything might change but no. Still showing ARMv7 in event log.

Task was at 5% on restart and stayed there afterwards but elapsed time went from 5hrs to 6min.

Edit: client from Play Store

Edit 2: event log startup

If BOINC runs then good chances SETI app will run too. Perhaps some emulation from Android runtime? AFAIK Android executable is managed code like .Net or Java.

Another 7.08 tasks are frozen on same host. After restart they continue with greatly decreased elapsed time (so, they hang few dozen hours w/o any progress or checkpointing). Didn't observe same behavior on another G-tab or with other app versions so far.
