I've noticed that SETI tasks (SETI@home v7 v7.00), both Beta and non-Beta, from January 23rd and later... are routinely being completed within 10 seconds on my NVIDIA GTS 240. Then the result gets marked Invalid. This is abnormal behavior -- the tasks normally take around 2,600 seconds and get validated correctly. Are the tasks somehow broken? Is anyone else seeing this behavior? Can anyone recommend a fix? I've noticed that SETI Beta tasks (SETI@home v7 v7.00 (cuda42)) from January 23rd and later... are routinely being completed within 10 seconds on my NVIDIA GTS 240. Then the result gets marked Invalid. More likely the GTS240 is some what broken, try a reboot, if that does not cure it take the card out and clean the dust bunnies out, the refit, and try again, there are thousands of GPUs like this on the Main project, it is the bane about our lives that no-one at berkeley cares about penalising hosts that constantly produce invalid tasks, so it carries on. Thanks. A restart appears to have cured it. Must have been something goofy in the driver's state that made it exit the tasks early. Good thing the validator does its job. |
