my virus program, Avast!, gave me a virus warning when one of my computers tried to download the SETI 7.0 CUDA42 executable (.exe)... suggest someone check it out for viri/worms, etc.!

That application has been installed here for about 15 months - any virus in it would have been found and reported many times over by now. BOINC servers run Linux, and the files on them are protected by digital signatures - the chance of the file having been infected on the server after initial deployment is infinitesimal. But I'll download a fresh copy and run it through https://www.virustotal.com/ just to eliminate even that. ID: 51212 · |
