Hi. I am using Zenfone4 phone which has intel chip, RAM 1GB. Computer id 72905 running on x86-android-linux-gnu I can observe that the Application SETI@home v7 v7.01 frequently restart from zero percent. After intense observe, I found that it restart when Android OS kill the process which is normal behavior of Android when it need RAM. And due to this application has no checkpoint (or the checkpoint is not function properly), it restart from zero percent. I can finish the short job such as work unit id 6790307 (task id 18245122) which complete in 5 hour. It can be completed in the night due to I am not awake. But the work unit 6802235 (task id 18247990) has a longer time. It run 8 hours and got only 40%. So I need 20 hours to finish the job but it is impossible to me due to I am awake and need to use phone. Android OS kill the process in the day time after I use the phone and the application restart from zero again. So I abort the job. So. The problem is checking point. Hope this information has value to you. At this time, I will abort any job that seem to run longer than a night time and try to run only short job. Thank you very much. |

The x86 app still needs rebuilding with an Android compatible api: SETI@home v7.01 released for x86-android I don't know if a BOINC version capable of running it exists yet. Claggy |
