The server is telling my phone there are no tasks available, but the SSP says there are over 3,000 of them.

(Or is there another, more trustworthy, SSP than the one linked on the home page?)

I suppose I could have put this in my previous thread about the same problem.

I tried my phone on Main and also got no tasks. Then I let it have Einstein, but went back to NNT right away.

Your Android hosts are running quite old Boinc versions, The latest one's report the Android version, then the servers know whether to send work or not.

Sigh.

Okay, I'll upgrade if I must. I don't like the Boinc GUI on the tablet, which is why I haven't updated the phone from its even older version.

I am running Native Boinc so NO, I'm not upgrading BOINC just to support one or two projects.

Hmmph. I finally broke down and upgraded my Boinc clients and both my phone and tablet immediately got work... and it's all 27my12ac units that are coming back invalid for everyone.

So as soon as I went and set NNT on my phone and unset it for Main, those self same 27my12ac units started validating, on both the phone and the tablet.

I think I'll go ahead and switch the phone back to Beta, just because it hasn't contributed anything to the Beta effort since I upgraded Boinc (which I still don't like the GUI of).
