Well, make cafe SETI at Beta a hip place to be and at least a few more will have to crunch to be there. It would be very simple to attract more users. If the Host was also active on Main then add the SETI Beta points to the Host on Main. I don't understand why they are separate anyway. Keep the Beta point totals for Beta Stats, but use the Total SETI points for the Hosts on Main. It's all SETI anyway. I guarantee you there would be more Users at Beta if the points were counted on Main. |

How about someone posting a message that says "We've loaded something new to test, Here's what it is, please go forth and Beta test it". Did I miss that? If I can help out by testing something, please let me know. Available hardware and software is listed in my profile here. |

Just now there is nothing "new" to test, but what you've suggested has been done on a number of occasions when there is "something new", and has been met by general silence. The truth is people aren't interested in testing new applications that may crash or do other unpredictable things, they just want "things to work". I can't blame them, I know how frustrating REAL testing is - you follow the script, you report everything, you do not deviate from the script and you do it repeatedly until you are certain that the application is behaving properly on that environment, then you do it again in another environment. And for the "credit hounds" this is perceived as a waste of their resources - and sometimes the same folks moan like crazy when things don't work as they would want. |

New Mac OpenCL Apps Posted at Crunchers Anonymous. All Apps are based on AKv8 r3710 and do Not have JSPF, except the new CPU App SSE41r3711, which the Benchmark says is 15% faster than the previous SSE41 App. The Intel App is the same as the last try, it is the Exact same App as the nVidia App with just a different name & number. Since I don't have an Intel iGPU, it is also completely untested on an Intel GPU, it does work on an nVidia GPU though. The new versions are; * ATi5r3710&CPU-AVX * ATi5r3710&CPU-AVX2 * nVidia_r3709&CPUr3711 * Intel_r3708&CPUr3711 * SSE41_CPUr3711 Here: http://www.arkayn.us/forum/index.php?topic=191.msg4368#msg4368 They work on My Mac...except the AVX apps |

TBar, could we persuade you to develop the SSE4.1 app for Windows CPU's in some fashion? |

Sorry, I've never considered compiling Apps in Windows, and don't plan on starting. Linux and Apple are pretty close, if you use the Terminal in Darwin. Windows would be too much different, I don't plan on going there. |

OK, had to ask. Does anyone have the contact for Urs? I've only seen his name attributed to the Linux apps at Lunatics. I've never seen him active on the Seti boards. Is he still active? |

Hm, looking at your reg date it's strange you never saw him on active on message boards. This year he's quite silent indeed. News about SETI opt app releases: https://twitter.com/Raistmer |

Speaking of too many exits https://setiathome.berkeley.edu/result.php?resultid=6153007753 Qute strange log. Host has ATi device. It got ATi plan class app. Still app reports about failure to ask NV runtime capabilities.... Did you use NVcard in that host before? Try to remove all NV driver remnants and reinstall AMD Catalyst. Never paid that much attention to developer content until the last year. I missed out on any postings by him on the Seti boards. I don't have membership at Lunatics since it a closed roster. |

Speaking of too many exits https://setiathome.berkeley.edu/result.php?resultid=6153007753 Never had any other card in it, so I have no clue where any NV would have come from. All I see is that was a SoG where as this from the same box isn't https://setiathome.berkeley.edu/result.php?resultid=6144371968 But in any case this is that box on Beta for comparison https://setiweb.ssl.berkeley.edu/beta/results.php?hostid=58294 |

This one at least reports AMD OpenCL platform as it should. But kernels fail with call failed (-54). One who have CL.h nearly could translate this error in human readable message. Suggestion is the same - clean reinstall of AMD drivers. ADDITION: and do project reset (better - re-attach to be sure project folder was cleaned completely) Regarding first log: #if !(__APPLE__) && USE_OPENCL_NV err=clGetDeviceInfo(id,CL_DEVICE_COMPUTE_CAPABILITY_MAJOR_NV,sizeof(retul),&retul,NULL); OCL_LOG_ERR("Quering NV device abilities"); if(retul>1)FERMI=true; It'sthe single place where such printing could occur in Windows. And it's clearly NV path. .. News about SETI opt app releases: https://twitter.com/Raistmer |

Btw, this Fermi (CC=2.x) GPU is still only receiving CUDA 7.5 tasks, https://setiathome.berkeley.edu/results.php?hostid=7823473, and for some reason has never been sent CUDA 4.2 tasks, https://setiathome.berkeley.edu/host_app_versions.php?hostid=7823473 Also, how can I tell which of these tasks were ever listed as Inconclusive? https://setiweb.ssl.berkeley.edu/beta/results.php?hostid=63959 As it is, the task could be listed as Inconclusive for minutes before the 3rd Host changes it to Valid. If you reported late, it's possible a task would never be listed as Inconclusive as the previous 2 Hosts would immediately validate it. |
