I'm not a programmer, so I don't know what it takes (apart from having the appropriate hardware when running the compiler, apparently), but: Main Host 8038083 Beta Host 79482 I'm willing to 'volunteer' it towards the testing of any Intel OpenCl apps (with the understanding that, since it's a non-Rooted device, any apps/WU's HAVE to come 'through BOINC'). Apart from this, I can test any x86/x86_64 Intel apps; generally with 12-24 hour notice, since it's a tablet used at home. ![]() |

Good to hear that. Please add "under Android OS" or smth similar to thread title to avoid confusion. News about SETI opt app releases: https://twitter.com/Raistmer |

Hi I did raise this question a while ago but got nowhere - see http://setiweb.ssl.berkeley.edu/beta/forum_thread.php?id=2273&postid=57352#57352 and further back Fingers crossed for you - I took BOINC off my tablet in the end so that I didn't have to keep it plugged in and charging :-) |

Currently Intel-based Android devices can run ARM-based builds. They will run in emulation mode but should run nevertheless (CPU-only, of course). News about SETI opt app releases: https://twitter.com/Raistmer |

My Host 79482 reports, at least on the page I look at, that it uses "SETI@home v8 v8.01 (pie) x86-android-linux-gnu", and has done so for the majority of its tasks. Unless, somehow, it pulls the other (ARM) executables and reports ALL of them under that same label... ![]() |

Could you post any link to ARM-build processed result? Also, do you use same device on SETI main? Are 8.00 and 8.01 the same builds or not? EDIT: got info from web-logs. On main: setiathome_v8 8.00 Revision: 3320 i686-linux-android-g++ (GCC) 4.6 20120106 (prerelease) libboinc: BOINC 7.7.0 On beta: setiathome_v8 8.00 Revision: 3320 i686-linux-android-g++ (GCC) 4.6 20120106 (prerelease) libboinc: BOINC 7.7.0 Seems like exactly same build. That is, nothing to test on beta for ix86 Android currently besides general app precision... News about SETI opt app releases: https://twitter.com/Raistmer |

A question, after rereading and rereading: Beta (and Main) has an Android x86 app, as well as various Android ARM apps (with the variations being different builds for different instruction sets). Were you saying my x86 host could run x86 and ARM both? ![]() |

Were you saying my x86 host could run x86 and ARM both? I ran ARM version on my x86-based netbook under BlueStacks Android emulation. News about SETI opt app releases: https://twitter.com/Raistmer |

Message me with how that's done? Just installed ARM opt app from Mateuzs' website. But it was @ v7 times. Unfortunately, he did not renewed app.But I think same can be done by using anonymous platform and stock v8 ARM app. I will be painfully slow though. It looks to me like a "Runs Android tasks on a Windows machine" emulator. I was thinking more of a "Run Android/ARM on an Android/Intel" emulator. EDIT: Which can't run anonymous, without ROOTing the tablet, which I don want to do. ![]() |
