Hi all, Long time no see. Do you remember me?? :) Recently I bought an Android smart phone. I want to test Beta applications, however boinc doesn't provide Beta project. And another client, nativeBoinc won't proceed to "Add Project". Just after setting access password, "Add Project" stays dark. How can I test Beta project on my smart phone? It's ARM based, so standard S@H works. TIA -Tetsuji Luckiest in the world. WMD = Weapon of Mass Distraction |

It looks like I cannot connect to the client. I can set the hostname to tetsuji and address to 127.0.0.1, and password is ******, and set the client to autostart, but it doesn't start. Luckiest in the world. WMD = Weapon of Mass Distraction |

Hi all, I crunch beta with NativeBOINC. Can't recall any specific issues on project attach. Just manually enter URL perhaps. News about SETI opt app releases: https://twitter.com/Raistmer |

Hi all, Thank you for the reply. I tried nativeBOINC also, but "Add project" doesn't work. Or more specifically, the client doesn't seem to be working. If I press "Back", "Restart client" appears and a circle is going round and never stops. Luckiest in the world. WMD = Weapon of Mass Distraction |

Hi all, On the official Boinc, go to the project tab, and add the project url, there should or might be a row of three vertical dots, that is how you add by url. Claggy |

You can manually add it just by entering the URL: http://setiweb.ssl.berkeley.edu/beta/ Just click on the triple dots as noted by Claggy. An alternative is to use BAM!, a BOINC Manager: https://boincstats.com/en/bam/register Very helpful when you got multiple machines. You can add/remove/disable Projects to run for each system just by clicking. The only problem with Android is because of the different versions, some project apps won't run (WUs will err out). Sometimes it's just the builds on the phones. Unfortunately, nobody is really keeping track so the fastest way to find out is just trying each project out (SETI included). I haven't encountered any issues on any of my phones/tablets with SETI sofar as I remember. Just wish there was a Droid AP app. :/ I strongly recommend using the stock Android app from the Play Store vs NativeBOINC. NativeBOINC is some years outdated but is useful if you are stuck on pre Kit Kat (4.4) and don't want to mess with hunting down the last native BOINC app and sideloading it (which you can do if you wanted to beta test Android versions).
