And here's the new "The Last Person To Post Here Wins" thread.

The Last Person To Post Here Wins Thread, general rules:

1. Winner of the last thread starts the new one with a post of these rules.
2. Chooses a future event which triggers the winner, e.g. post number, date-time, and records it privately somehow (yellow sticky, etc.)
3. Everyone has fun posting until the target event is reached.
4. When the target is reached, old winner posts declaration of new winner and also PMs them.
5. Shortly after this a Mod will lock the recently won thread (use the red cross to notify them)*
6. Go to 1.

All I will say is- if this thread was moving on slowly before, now that it is summer, I think it will move on even slower.....

So it is and the world is distracted by a round ball being kicked by feet.

He most certainly is having to stand around while standing around to stand around in Frothy Tops

While you all stand around looking at each other, I think I'll mosey over and stand on the winners platform.

It's looking like Iceland won't go through to the next round - but I really like their thunderclap.

Moscow's street of lights is very pretty. I like that too. I've not really paid much attention to anything much else.

I had a look at the News forum at main and was a bit surprised to see Eric had started a thread about dropped pancakes. I'm so glad my eyes resolved themselves. I've dropped a few myself and for a moment, felt an anecdote coming on.

Nay on pancakes, excepting intentionally on the other side to cook. Dropped roasts. I swear roasts weigh twice as much when they are hot ...

How are you really doing Annie?

Winning.
I'm happy for you. Really, I am... Almost as happy as I am for me now ;)

It's lovely to see you, btw. I haven't been in to Rocky's yet :/ I know :\ soon :) but there's some science that needs doing here first, so if you will excuse me for a moment...?

@: I swear roasts weigh twice as much when they are hot
Well anyone who has ever carried a young child in the two, very distinct forms they come in ... awake, and asleep... can tell you, the less conscious something is the less work their muscles do, ergo the more work yours do and the heavier they feel. So there is already science around and about the place, that hints there is such a phenomenon, and if we extend that to sayyyyy a chicken, the evidence starts to speak for itself...

Pick one up while it can still squawk at you, and it's not going to feel as heavy as when it's missing quite a few of its bits, and laying cold and pale in a roasting dish maintaining a quasi-dignified shape by continuing to grip determinedly onto its bones. This is our raw data. Cook it...

budumph

its will to even continuing to bother-to gets broken, and well... need I say more!

well I did, people :/ yes... quite a lot more in fact, but I'll clutter up somewhere else with that :) There'll be somewhere for it I'm sure...

@ How are you really doing Annie?
erm... :/

You know when you're little? and there's a lot of people about, and you go and step in something nasty while they're all looking...? That's how I'm doing :/ It's okay though :)

I mean if you stop and think about it... little did we know then just how much power we had while it was stuck to us... yes... and with that image uppermost in all your minds, for which you are all most, most welcome *raise chin* I'm going to go and cook something for dinner now :) I'm planning to drift back later so-ohhhhhno... I think I've just remembered you have a birthday in June, Mike *consult date* and that that is mostly gone :\

Erm... If you did, happy belated wishes! Sorry for missing it.

Well, with Annie back in the hunt I can say that you are getting closer to the event that will trigger the announcement of the winner of this thread. It is an event, not a date, or count, even I don't know the exact date or time of said event, but I do know the trigger.

So keep posting, one of you has to be lucky
.

Or is unlucky??

It's one of those community spirit building exercises isn't it? A klaxon suddenly blares out over the neighbourhood heralding something like a one-egg-two-spoons-three-legged-you-have-four-minutes-to get-to the-start-line-outside-the-shop race and you're all supposed to think YAY that's exactly what I want to do now.

The push-a-barrel-of-beer-up-a-soapy-slide-and-you-keep-it was fun until the brawl, although some people thought that was the highlight, but we've not had another as good as that one. I didn't know it had reached so far afield, Rob...

please note: pinches of salt are available from the vending machine in the corner

Any child that doesn't want to be picked up and carried thrashes its arms & legs in protest, and the weight and overall size increases proportionately to the decibels of the noise produced.
Once you're in that kind of trouble with one, it's vital you don't let them reach a state of flat on their face on the floor because that's no longer a child made up of ordinary run of the mill, everyday atoms anymore.
