Lazy Girl, feel free to chime in here, if you want. :-) Tiare, you said that you really like the perfume flacons. You know you can buy some of them as miniatures, go here and see what you can get: http://www.parfumflacons.com/ But here are some of mine (Click the pics): This is the Duende (and I really hope it means fairy and not leprechaun!!! :-O ): ![]() My Opium, and yes, those with the tassel are rare: ![]() This is a small Opium to wear as a necklace, and yes, there is a small bottle inside it, as you can see. It's pure oil, stronger than perfume, and I can't use it anymore, it's too strong now. I saw a lady wearing one of those in a hotel in Palermo, Sicily, and I imidiately said to my ex-husband that I wanted one of those! But I couldn't get any, neither in Sicily or in Denmark, so I finally found one and bought it on the Canary Islands. But here it is, a real collector's item: ![]() Magie Noire from Lancôme is one I never have used, so it has evaporated. I don't like the scent but I loved the flacon. ![]() These pebbles are special collector's items from Kenzo, and they are called Ryoko, meaning "travel" in Japanese (Tetsuji, if you read this, you can tell if it's true), and they are so cute: ![]() The three of them come with a little cute neoprene pouch, where the name also is printed on. The fourth, the grey one, is the male perfume L'Eau par Kenzo pour Homme: ![]() The only of them, I ever wanted to buy in the normal package, is Summer by Kenzo and it looks like this: ![]() One my latest buyings was these from Boucheron, where I got two in the same box: ![]() As you can see, I keep them all in their original boxes to keep them dry and dark, so they don't become rancid too fast. These are only some of my perfumes, I have many others. I have bought a lot as minis because then I can get e.g. 4 - 5 different in a giftbox, and then they don't become rancid because I use them while they still are fresh. As I said, I coordinate my perfumes with my moods. Some days I feel like Beautiful or White Linen from Estee Lauder, other days I feel like I Love Love from Moschino... But take a look at those sites with the minis, they are actually good buys as the price is reasonably, and you use them before they become rancid, and some of them really are collector's items. Oooohhh....Fuzzy, your perfumes...aren't they lovely!. Ohhhh, that Opium is almost 20 years old! My fingers smell of it, because I took the small bottle out of the pendant, and the scent is not unpleasant, it's the bottom note, and even it's strong and musky, it's not bad at all. That's what makes the difference between the cheap and the expensive perfumes, the raw materials, and if they are the best, it can last for decades. I can still sense the smell of my first perfume, Je Reviens from Worth, when I open a bag I had spilled some of it in, and it's not bad at all. So you have the Chanel no. 5, huh? ;-D It's funny you should mention that Cocoa butter, because take a look at what one of my guilty pleasures are! :-D I have this and this, and they both smell of orange chocolate. And the body butter really is like butter, and they are so good to use on an icy cold night in March, where the wind is arctic, it blows directly from Siberia, and the air is dry as a desert, so the skin dries out. You can really feel how the butter is being absorbed in no time. Here in the warm season, I have an another guilty pleasure, again this and this and they smell of orange and pineapple, and they are like whipped cream. The cream is a little too fat to use when it's really hot, so it's more for when it gets a little colder. Btw, I love my cosmetics from Chanel, they make really good products... And from Chanel I have Allure, Cristalle, and Coco as minis. No no. 5! I have thought if I should buy it just for the legend about it, but... Btw, I just checked their website, and I can see they still have the nailpolish Rouge Noir in their selection: ![]() This pic is a little out of color, as it's not that red, it's almost black, but not black. I bought mine in the mid 90' and I still use it for parties and so, and it looks really good. I use either this or a French manicure. But the Rouge Noir is a real classic. :-D "I'm trying to maintain a shred of dignity in this world." - Me ![]() |

![]() My little bottle of Chanel #5! Yes...it is definately an aquired smell....a lot of women I know don't like it at all, but after it's been on your skin for a hour or so...then WOW! :) The small tube is a tester body lotion for a perfume called 'Chance' also by Chanel. I love Chanel too. It's very nice....not sure about it in the body lotion though. I don't know about you but I find that perfume doesn't always seem to translate very well through a lotion or shower gel....it's almost as if the friction bruises it. Does that make sense? The other bottle is 'Tresor' by Lancome. It's beautiful...but though it has a lot of high notes in it, it can be quite heavy so I usually just spray the air & walk through it. LOL!...For some strange reason it reminds me of Christmas. |

sorry I'm late :P Actually my sister is the one that collects every type of flacons and bottles in general...if I go to visit her one of these days, I'll take pictures :) Wow! Fuzzy, those Ryoko pebbles are so beatiful!! how many flacons and perfums do you have in total? I think it's very important to keep the original box, you never know, maybe you meet a collectionist in the future and get a good value for it :) I have to confess I'm not a perfum fan, I just have one or two types of it...*ashamed*. I just like to collects things, for example I have a collection of cigarettes packs...although I don't smoke :S I'll put a picture of my collection, I'm just waiting to have the zoto page up again. ok, see ya girls ;) "Life is a journey, your dreams, the path"- From my friend: Skydust |

... I don't know, I haven't counted them. I don't have them as a collection, they are more like a wardrope of scents to me. And then I haven't even mentioned all my different shower gels. Or any of my other "feel good" products :-O I'm much into aroma therapy, scents mean a lot to me. EDIT: My girlfriend collects the minis, and I have actually given her some of those I have bought, because I didn't like the scent. So it's not a question about having them for me. I guess that's the reason I've never bought a Chanel no. 5, maybe because those I have had sprayed on me have been the eau de toilette's, and they are different than the perfume. And they were not tempting me to buy a big one! I think it's the same thing about the body products, they have the main scents but they kind of miss all the notes, the shower gel gets rinsed off, and the body lotions, yes, it is being worked with, and I suppose the warmth from your hands make the scent change in a way. I don't use them much either, I usually use a neutral scent for shower gels and deodorants, and then I use the perfume I want. Or I use a shower gel with a strong scent, I have some from a mail order company I buy a lot of my lipbalms, shampoos, and all kinds of bodycare from. And they are nice, they don't pretend to be anything else but what they are. They have some shower gels with the scents of trees, cedar, cypress.... Or with the smell of fruits. Oh yes, the Trésor, I remember it as it was the beautiful Isabella Rosselini who were their spokesperson back, when it was launched. It's funny, because I have noticed that most of my perfumes come from the same companies, and there are other companies I don't have any from. From Dior I only have one, Eau Svelte, I don't like the others. And from Elizabeth Arden I only like Red Door, which I don't have, I only had it as a sample, I don't like the rest of them. Strangely I have several from Esteé Lauder. I don't know, I guess it's about the notes they like in those companies. Lancôme's scents are not among my prefered either. Yes, this talk reminds me of Christmas also, when all those giftpackages come from the companies. I usually do some very good bargains at Christmas, usually with my prefered skincare products from Origins. Last year I bought a nice present for myself, a giftpackage from Esteé Lauder with cosmetics, all kinds... They make some good ones, where you really get something for the money, and the price is heavily reduced compared to what each product cost. And I got the cutest little evening purse with it all. :D Btw, I even use men's perfume, I have two deodorants from Van Gils, Strictly for Men and Between Sheets. They are really good also, more "dry", and the deodorants are very lasting. I can smell them when I undress at the evening after a whole day. And I also like that Men's pebble from Kenzo, I bought. Very fresh... "I'm trying to maintain a shred of dignity in this world." - Me ![]() |

I wonder if I could increase my chances of getting a date if I stand in a room full of girls. There are only 3 of us here. And just a piece of advise: Don't start to talk about your cosmetic products in a group of women, that will place you in the "friend" category imidiately. And all you guys know that's the kiss of death in regards of getting a relationship, right?! "I'm trying to maintain a shred of dignity in this world." - Me ![]() |

I wonder if I could increase my chances of getting a date if I stand in a room full of girls. look, here you have another chance to talk about something diferent than perfums: ![]() wait a minute, I don't smoke, maybe it's not a good idea then....well, what do you usually say when you start a conversation with a girl? That's good, because I don't smoke either. I wouldn't know my softpacks from hard packs, filtered from unfiltered, or cancer from cancer-free. LOL Anyway... I usually start my conversations like this... "Where do you hurt? Were you wearing your seatbelt? Do you remember everything that happened?" |

That's good, because I don't smoke either. I wouldn't know my softpacks from hard packs, filtered from unfiltered, or cancer from cancer-free. LOL I don't know either, I just like the designs of them. And I have a small nephew and he always see this packs, I think if he doesn't have the curiosity about cigarrettes and cigarettes packs and see them as a natural thing, he won't have the curiosity to smoke in the future, just my assumption, of course...at least it worked for me... Anyway... I usually start my conversations like this... that will work for me :( I have just injuried my arm, but not in a car, it was climbing a monument (made of sharp stones) to take a picture lol "Life is a journey, your dreams, the path"- From my friend: Skydust |

Did you fall? If so, how far did you fall? What caused you to fall? Did you lose consciousness? What kind of injury do you have on your arm? What does your arm look like? I would then have to start asking more personal questions. PS. I think my posts in this thread break the rules. :( I think I've hijacked the thread. sorry. :( |
