It's a shame Seti isn't still running. This system would have pumped out up some pretty impressive numbers of Tasks. German system builder Mifcom has unveiled a new high-end workstation powered by an AMD Ryzen Threadripper Pro CPU and seven Nvidia GPUs. As you'd expect, the device comes with a hefty price tag to match its impressive hardware, and is available for purchase at €28,999 (around $31,627).BIG BOSS Threadripper Pro 5995WX system Grant Darwin NT |

Here we go again... IS A PIGEON FASTER THAN THE INTERNET? ... As you can see, the internet only wins when you consider distances of thousands of miles. Homing pigeons win at distances up to a few hundred miles |

An interesting article from Serve the Home, looking tat moving from a 2nd Gen Intel Xeon system, to a current Bergamo. For those on a roughly 3-6 year refresh cycle, moving from an older 1 U server to a current 1U server. The results? One high-end 1U single socket Bergamo system can replace up to 5 older dual socket 1U systems, saving 80% rack space, and using as much as 2.5kW less power to do so. Grant Darwin NT |
