I have installed Boinc and seti on just about every OS and many Linux,Mint, DEB, Ubuntu, Xubuntu and others. But I am having trouble with a new install of Boinc on Antix 17.2 on an older laptop. Running x86 antiX 17.2 which is a Debian, Linux Stretch derivative from what I gather but I am used to Mint mainly, So installing some things that are just packages or .sh files I'm not formilior with. I have install on Mint with apt-get install several things via PPA, or package manager.
Any help step by step please!

I apologize but I can't find anyone else who as posted a message with the OS name "Antix" for the last year on these forums.

Would it be possible to switch to a Linux you have had more success with?

Problem solved:
I had to add another package for Synaptic manager to start opening the deb files, at least the way I was used to. FYI antiX has the boinc package in their repository so it was easy after that, Boinc is crunching now.
Thanks.
