I have see old refurbished Nvidia Tesla K40 cards for around 400€. They have 2880 CUDA cores wirh 4300-5000 GFLOPS in single precision performance. Newer RTX 2080 and 2080 Super have 2944 and 3072 CUDA cores with 8920 GFLOPS in single precision performance. Is there are any reason to buy an older Tesla card instead of a newer consumer graphic card? Is it better to invest in a common graphic card than spending a little bit less on an older specialized GPU accelerator card? Latest Tesla cards are expensive for me - so the choice is an older Tesla card or a "latest" Nvidia Geforce - what would you recommend? |

not worth it. it will lag far behind current offerings. and it's too old to use the new special app. you can buy an RTX 2070 for that price. Seti@Home classic workunits: 29,492 CPU time: 134,419 hours ![]() ![]() |
