Greetings, I found this video this morning and decided to watch it. The guy got screwed, not just because the item was NOT what was advertised, but also because the item was a "bomb" that bricked his test equipment. I've seen other recommended videos where people got screwed by buying from wish.com. I did not watch them, but did this one for whatever reason. Have a great day! :) Siran CAPT Siran d'Vel'nahr - L L & P _\\// Winders 11 OS? "What a piece of junk!" - L. Here is a good guide on avoiding Chinese fake video cards. Hi Mr. Kevvy, Not to worry. I do not buy any PC components from anywhere but Newegg, Amazon and Best Buy. I will NOT buy from eBay or any other site that allows unknown persons sell their "wares". I don't even buy from manufacturers websites, although I would if I could not get what I want or need anywhere else. I just figured I'd post that video since I see a lot of users here buying from eBay and the sort. Wish.com should be shut down, fer sure! :) Have a great day! :) Siran CAPT Siran d'Vel'nahr - L L & P _\\// Winders 11 OS? "What a piece of junk!" - L. For me, so far, the most reliable "fake" indicators for Video cards are: 1) They don't have a brand like EVGA or Zotac just Nvidia. 2) The prices are unreasonably low. I am not going to order a "new" state of the art Amd 3900x for $80 (someone was selling it at that price out of China). Even the "don't buy from a mainland Chinese vendor" hasn't always worked. Some people were buying the "fakes" and selling them from US Addresses. Tom A proud member of the OFA (Old Farts Association). |

i notice Newegg selling a lot of X79 socket 2011 motherboards from China. I'm running my daily driver (which I'm posting from) on one of those as the original board failed and they are no longer manufactured by the major brands... I didn't feel like tossing the CPU, RAM, cooler etc. over a failed board. So far it's been flawless, driving 2x2080ti cards on the All-In-One Linux client full-bore 24x7 since July. It has an American Megatrends/AMI BIOS so no Chinese writing anywhere I've seen. I got it from Amazon as, in case it was a lemon, they have a very good return policy. The price was $136 Can. which was near what would be expected for a major brand's board, unlike those knockoff cards not a "too good to be true" price for which a disappointment should be expected. ![]() |

Ebay has been fine for me in procuring used GPUs for great prices. So long as it is a US seller, they have good feedback, and they allow returns (which Ebay will always enforce in your favor), there really shouldn't be any major problems. Just use your gut when reviewing the item...if there's any red flags at all, then just move on to the next seller offering the same item. |
