Thanks go to Wiggo for forwarding on the baton... A new thread has begun! The following are the Rules: ------------- 1. Winner of the last thread starts the new one with a post of these rules. 2. Chooses a future event which triggers the winner, e.g. post number, date-time, and records it privately somehow (yellow sticky, etc.) 3. Everyone has fun posting until the target event is reached. 4. When the target is reached, old winner posts declaration of new winner and also PMs them. 5. Shortly after this a Mod will lock the recently won thread. (My preference is for the winner to ask the mods to lock the old thread after the new one is started.) 6. No double posts. Violators buy drinks or a meal for the house in Rocky's. 7. Additional rule retained from the last round - No posts that APPEAR to be blank - these will be ignored or deleted. (Sig lines do not count as part of a post) And be Excellent to one another! Have fun! Martin See new freedom: Mageia Linux Take a look for yourself: Linux Format The Future is what We all make IT (GPLv3) |

It was all a matter of luck Martin, this time it was yours. ;-) As I kill another 20mins I'll do a report on my solar system. During the longest sunniest day of summer saw a 58.3kw/hr day, but now as we fast approach the shortest day yesterday's sunny day saw it barely make a 39.1kw/hr day so it'll be interesting to see what difference a week makes. Anyhow I guess that I'd better start rugging up for tip run. Cheers. |

While it is still safe, Congrats Martin. Idiot lawyer wants to win big, but, he has set his client up for prison, or at least the Assistant DA I talked to thinks so. |

I got another 2 trips to the tip in today, so there's no more rubbish left laying around here, returned the old ute and then enjoyed a few beers at the pub along with a 3 meats roast dinner before returning home. Now I'm ready for a spinal reset as the mercury here reaches our expected max of 12C (feels like 8C).. Cheers. |

The mercury here has reached Frostville, -2C (feels like -5C) outside (while it's a comfy 20C inside), and I guess that I'd better go and prepare myself for P.O.E.T.S. Day. Cheers. |

I'm not sure what the peak difference between your domain and mine was, butt its been at least 30C. My nodes don't like it this hot.... Bob Smith Member of Seti PIPPS (Pluto is a Planet Protest Society) Somewhere in the (un)known Universe? |

If you're feeling to warm you can cool off here at a frosty -6C (feel like -10C). The sunshine must of been better yesterday than the day before as I got a 39.4kw/hr day in. Anyhow another sunny day is to be had and as the sun starts to show itself it time for a coffee. Cheers. |

Thanks all. And by 'eck, no idea about how many wins but must be only a handful or less? Meanwhile, whilst out 'n' about, doubt I suffered anything like 30 deg C... But did suffer 7 deg C for a period for the sake of science... All good fun all in the UK! It's still nowhere near warm outside as yet, currently it's just hit the 10C mark (feels like 6C) here (14C is expected), but I'll trying a bit of pruning out in this glorious sunshine (while being out of the breeze) and see how I go. Cheers. |

With the mercury here back at Frostville it's time for me to call it a day here and prepare myself for the weekend by snuggling down in my nice warm bed. Cheers. |

Well... well... well... This warmer weather showed up an irritating deficiency in some Chinese supplied communications kit... The power supply voltage 'appeared' to be ever more greatly afflicted by increasing ambient temperature to the point that one of our comms links was dropping out with errors. And the fix?... Some cursing for debug and checks and... Adding much improved decoupling capacitors and a bulk smoothing capacitor onto the afflicted circuit board. All is now running much more smoothly, literally! Why oh why cripple the kit for the sake of insignificant pennies for the lack of full-spec components?! (Then again... Why did we buy that Chinese sourced kit?...) Why - because the initial cost is lower, and so shows the job was delivered on time & budget. With no regard to the fact that the repair & maintenance cost will be over budget. Bob Smith Member of Seti PIPPS (Pluto is a Planet Protest Society) Somewhere in the (un)known Universe? |
