Asteroids galore and some neat pic's. Thousands of new asteroids spotted within the Rubin Observatory's first hours of operation. After a very brief pass at the sky, the Vera C. Rubin Observatory has already photographed thousands of objects no other telescope has seen before.Cheers. |

Wow!In just 10 hours of observations across seven different nights, the observatory discovered 2,104 brand-new asteroids in the Solar System. I think before it was a tendious business even to automatically identify anomalous movements of (presumed) stars in pairs of photographs from the same sky region, sufficiently many days... or months... apart. |
